Custom Gear Showcase - Esstac Chicom Rig Backer

Another example of a custom solution we were able to put together exactly to the customers specification. The Esstac Chicom rig features a loop velcro backing instead of a hook backing. This does not allow you to attach other industry standard items to that surface area. The video will explain it better. The official product overview video for the Mission Spec LinkIt™ Kit. missionspec.com/products/linkit-kit/ The LinkIt™ can provide many solutions. The original design intent was to stabilize chest rigs when mounting to plate carriers. The unsecured portions of the chest rig will often “flop” resulting in noise and reduced movement efficiency. RackStraps and PackStraps? What's the difference?
I put my $17 ebay knock off on my AR-9.. ITS WORKS! I just cant financially justify a $200 riser.. If I decide to volunteer to Ukraine- then id take the $200 one.
Not fake.. replica version, and it looks good
So transmitting on GMRS vs HAM is simply about being on the right frequency? And it’s safe to say that no first responders will be using GMRS frequencies, so you won’t be interfering with anyone (important) by using them?
Do we just want clear filters for white phos? If so who makes the best ones?
Fugging blow me, ran a "cheap china" version for years and it costed me $25. These companies make these products for so cheap and yet you let them get away with 200% mark ups just cause you buy it directly from them.
Did y’all go out of business or something? I’m not sure where I can get an EC2 since your site doesn’t seem to be taking orders currently.
Biggest difference is the screws they use. I wonder how much difference in strength of the unit's aluminum there is?
Unity will mail you screws and other mounting hardware free if you email them.
I bought a $17 fake one on ebay for my airsoft. The added height should be easier to use with an airsoft/paintball mask. Other than that I would never consider this high of a mount on real steel unless it was for law enforcement.
The problem is what most of us know and that is the real mount is like $200plus and a lot of people just don’t want to spend that much on a mount!!
You can also "articulate" it from L eye to R eye in an emergency
The best kept secret in the monocular realm 🤷♂️
People go for the fake one to not pay $200 for a little piece of aluminum
Gexmil night vision mount in amazonn is highly recommend.
Friendly fire will not be tolerated
I read that if you do this to a UV-5R then CHIRP Programming software will no longer work. Any confirmations or denials from anyone?
Still haven’t seen how to input an 8 digit GMRS frequency in UV5R that only allows 6 digits.
Maybe the company shouldn't be price gouging american citizens just because of the "name" same with crye, mystery ranch etc... they think it's ok to mark their prices up 100s of dollars just because they have military contracts
Blame our damn Government for allowing the patent violations! But then again they work for the very ones that are doing it. Government by China for China
well im not wasting 200€ on the original lol
Both are overpriced and blocks of aluminum. Lol.
Well. I would encourage you to think of the millions of dollars worth of machines and man hours that probably went into producing it. It's not just the cost of the aluminum.
I still wouldn't pay over $100 for it though, no matter how good the marketing was. 🤷♀️
@@oldspeed671Not sure what the marketing has to do with it. It takes tons and tons of money to bring a new product to market. They aren't going to bother making it if they just break even.
What did you use to view the night vision?
That was a PVS-14 with L3 Tubes.
What do you mean it won't work with the J-Arm?
This mount requires a dovetail interface. Like the Dual Dovetail that was featured in the video. It takes place of the JArm.
They are so cheap I threw some in my basket to give it a try. Should be in tomorrow
How did it work out?
@@missionspec actually really well, used it in match and was very easy on the eyes
@@rf9078Awesome!
I opted for a clone each of the Unity and Scalarworks just to see which height I like better.
Let me know what you think
@@teknotronik711 if I can remember my way back here lol
So what did you decide? Ample testing time now ;)
@@missionspec the Unity clone is decent. Considered having it hardness tested at work to see if I could figure out the alloy and hardness but decided that might get me in trouble. The Scalar Works clone however is marginal at best
Definitely going to check this out! Wonder if it will work with a Wilcox dovetail j-arm?… seems like that would be even better than the dual dovetail…
Yes. I think it should.
I like that the only differences is coating and a few machining marks… other than that it’s the same material they used to machine 💀 one is what they should actually cost and the other is marked up through the ass 😂
One is paying for all the R&D, marketing, salaries, production, insurance, and alllllll the taxes involved in making something. The other just said, "we can do that but pay for nothing."
Rods collect light, cones detect color. Cones are in the center of your retina, with the cones concentrated in the middle (known as L-Cones) picking up longer wavelengths of light which includes red light. At night, with little to no light, your peripheral vision will be able to “see better” as the rods surrounding your retinas are picking up the light, but since there is no color to pick up, you end up with a blind spot in the center of your vision. This phenomenon called the "purkinje shift" where during low-light conditions, the rods in the eye become more active, and the cones responsible for color vision are less sensitive. This is one reason why red light is used in low/no light conditions. The other reason red light is preferred at night because it has a longer wavelength, making it easier on the eyes in low-light conditions. It helps to preserve night vision by causing less disruption to the rods in the retina, which are more sensitive to shorter wavelengths (like blue and green light). Keep in mind all visible light travels the same distance and speed regardless of color, thusly contracting your iris the same, resulting in needing to reacclimatize your natural night vision after exposure. Pro Tip: close your dominant eye and expose only your non-dominant eye to light sources during night ops. This way, you save the half of your natural night vision that matters, while the other half comes back.
Eyes are pretty nuts
uh
Exactly
Is this out of date? I thought GMRS was allowed 5 or more watts max on all but 7 of the channels?
Check the date of the video. Several things have been updated regarding gmrs. This video still serves as a good crashcourse on this type of radio.
Chinese knock off mount is just as good
I will use the real one. They put the money in. Others just copied. Unless it is a licensed reproduction.
Fake ones are like 60?$ max with full functions except i can only find red one with strobe and laser but green you only get light and green no strohe. And one more versjon red light plus light plus IR
Yea. That's why I recommend paying for the real one. Good warranty. Likely to never fail anyway though.
Are completely custom ches rigs possible?
Absolutely. Send us a msg on our website.
bj-tac?
What are you asking? Not following you.
I ordered this and mines still green lol not black and white
Did you get the green to white filter? There is an option for green tubes or white tubes if I recall. Talk to them about it. I bet they will help you out
Pl tones are not private, the tones are actually used to squelch out other operators on the channel, and interference interference, that's what the tones are used for!!!!
Video stated that tones are not encryption in any form.
Honestly I would never trust replica optics, but i've used one of these replica mounts for about 500 rounds and it hasn't budged a bit.
This is the comment I was looking for, optic’s probably don’t hold zero, but I’d imagine a machined piece of metal ought to be able to do the same thing as the “real one”
The replicas in this world certainly are better than they use to be. That's for sure.
Anyone know what type and size screws for mounting a t1 to one of these? Got a deal on a used one and it came with the rail mount screws but nothing to mount the t1 and the original t1 mount screws are way to long
Just what I needed to see for a commission. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
unity mount with shit ass red dot says everything we need to know
The mount costed more than the fucking optic! 😂
Romeo 5's are good quality budget optics.. Quit talking out of your snobby ass

What are your thoughts on force to overcome vs push button. Lookin at norotos Lo sto, and not a lot of discussion on push button vs fto. How much force is needed? Can the nods slam down when bumped or with activity?
That's a really tough decision. Force makes sense on something light like a 14. I'm not sure about a set of duals.
FWIW there was a guy on another video who has been heavy fighting in Ukraine for over a year with his fake Unity mount lol.
It's so over for these price gouger "battle proven" brands, after seeing so many Holosuns and such in Ukraine. It's over, we aren't paying extra for the same stuff.
@@lance9150 fwiw I put a fake on my full auto and the only weakness is the crappy bolts on the bottom of the mount. I’m sure they’d be fine, but I just got the American Defense QD for like $40 and now this thing would survive going to hell and back. There is NO REASON to pay $200+ for the real one.
Alternate viewpoint: Buying Chinesium helps enslave our enemies.
Well... it helps finance their war machine. No thanks.
Cheap one would be much better for airsoft
Certainly rather bust a fake than real.
"Promo sm" 💋
Thanks!
